The transition to the new cards will begin on July 25, 2024. Due to the transition, in-person reprints and pick-up will no longer be available at the DPS Public Services Center lobby after July 24. Applicants may still drop off documents and make payments in-person at the PSC lobby, but all new cards will be mailed.

• It's important to note that the current versions of the cards will remain valid until their expiration dates, so there is no immediate need to replace them with the new design. 
• Unarmed Security Guard Card Class: $110.00 One 8-hour course
• Must be Sponsored by a security agency.

• The unarmed guard card class is an 8-hour classroom-only training session. When you complete the class, you will have the basic knowledge to qualify for the Arizona unarmed guard card. This class will also satisfy the requirements for a renewal license every 2 years as the new and renewal courses are the same.
• Unarmed classes are held at 7100 W. Grandview Rd Peoria, AZ 85382. All paperwork is included in the cost of the course but Does Not include the Fingerprints or Passport photos (Packages are available for an extra fee) 
• Does NOT Include any AZ DPS licensing fees.

•  Armed Security Guard Card Class: $250.00 2-day Class, Two Day Class.

• The armed guard card class is a 16-hour course, over 2 days (8 hours each day). All students must demonstrate a knowledge and proficiency of armed security guard issues by passing a written test with a minimum score of 70 percent after the class. Students will also be required to display shooting proficiency by firing a 50-round qualification and achieving a score of at least 70 percent. In total, 50 rounds of ammunition will be used during this course. Students must have completed unarmed training before taking this course! All paperwork is included in the cost of the course:
• Not Include: Gun, duty belt & hostler, Magazines, or Ammo and Does Not include the Fingerprints or Passport photos (Gun rental $35.00, ammo $30.00, Gun & Ammo $65.00 Fingerprints and Passport photos packages $50.00 are available for an extra fee)

• Must be able to lawfully work in the United States
• Must be,18 or older
• Must be able to pass a drug test for armed guard
• No felony convictions
• Must have a current AZ DPS-issued unarmed or armed guard permit
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English with clarity.
• Must be able to walk, stand, and climb stairs for up to 8 hours
• Must have a working smartphone, either Android or iPhone.
• Must be able to generate a report in MS Word format
• Must have a reliable vehicle (NO UBER or Family Driving you)
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• The position requires availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and specific geographical areas as needed for the job.  
• Requirements Continued:
• Armed Guards and Bodyguards are required to 
• undergo a driver's history check and a drug test.  
• Understand that Armed Guards and Bodyguards must pass a driver's history check & drug test & understand that - These measures are conducted at the potential employee's expense to ensure that our team members are not only highly skilled but also trustworthy and dependable.
